The Love and Care Family Uganda is a charity officially registered with the Ugandan government. It is governed by a Ugandan board of directors who receive no compensation for the services they render to the charity. The purpose of the Love and Care Family is to bring love and care to abandoned and orphaned children. The Love and Care Family Uganda maintains a Christian home environment using the traditional Ugandan concept of the extended family for providing care. Children live in a group home (the Miriam Duggan Home) with “mothers” who serve as their caretakers.
